Key Responsibilities:

Patient Assessment: Performing physical exams, monitoring vital signs (BP, temp, pulse), observing symptoms, and documenting changes.
Direct Care & Treatment: Administering prescribed medications, injections, infusions, wound care, and assisting with hygiene, feeding, and mobility.
Care Planning: Developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans in collaboration with doctors and other staff.
Patient/Family Education: Instructing patients and families on disease management, prevention, medications, and health maintenance.
Documentation: Maintaining accurate, complete, and timely patient health records and reports.
Team Collaboration: Working with physicians, LPNs, and support staff to ensure coordinated care.
Equipment & Environment: Preparing and decontaminating medical equipment, ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
Common Duties:

Patient admission/discharge.
Bedside care (bathing, feeding, bed making).
Urinalysis (sugar/albumin).
Pre- and post-operative care.
Emotional and psychological support.
Essential Skills:

Strong communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.
Problem-solving and initiative.
Attention to detail.
Ability to handle pressure and emotional situations.
Basic computer skills for record-keeping.
Work Settings:

Hospitals (ER, ICU, general wards).
Clinics & Doctor's Offices.
Schools, Pharmacies, Home Health.
Requirements (for RNs):

Graduation from an approved nursing program.
Passing licensing exams (like NCLEX-RN).
Current state licensure and certifications (BLS, ACLS)
