Age Limit
Date of Birth Range: Candidates born between 02 July 2005 and 02 January 2009 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply
Age at Time of Enrollment: If selected through all stages, the upper age limit at the time of actual enrollment should not exceed 21 years
Age Calculation: Age will be calculated as on the date of registration
Marital Status (Very Important)
Must be Unmarried: Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for recruitment as Agniveervayu Non-Combatant
Marriage Undertaking: Selected candidates must sign a voluntary undertaking that they will NOT marry during the 4-year engagement period
Breach of Undertaking: Any Agniveervayu Non-Combatant who marries during the engagement period will be immediately discharged from service without any benefits
Regular Cadre Eligibility: Only unmarried Agniveervayu Non-Combatant will be considered for selection in regular cadre as Non-Combatant(E) after 4 years
Educational Qualification
Minimum Qualification: Passed Matriculation (10th Standard) or equivalent examination
Recognized Board: Must be from education boards recognized by Central, State, or Union Territory as on the date of registration
Proof Required: Original matriculation certificate or mark sheet mandatory
Nationality & Residency
Must be an Indian citizen
Must be a permanent resident of India

Vision Standards
Refractive Error: Not exceeding ± 3.5 D (diopters) including astigmatism
Visual Acuity: 6/36 each eye, correctable to 6/9 each eye
Color Vision: CP-III standard
Note: Corneal surgery (PRK/LASIK) is NOT acceptable
Hearing Standards
Candidate must have normal hearing capability
Able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately
Dental Standards
Healthy gums and good set of teeth
Minimum 14 dental points required
Dental implants and implant-supported prosthesis will NOT be awarded any points
Candidates wearing fixed or removable orthodontic appliances will be declared UNFIT
General Health Standards
Must be fit for the Indian Air Force according to all medical standards
Normal body anatomy without loss of any appendages
Free from any active or latent, acute or chronic medical or surgical disability
No communicable diseases, infections, or skin ailments
Physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any climate, terrain, and region worldwide
General Disqualifications

Narcotic Drugs & Substance Abuse (ZERO TOLERANCE)
Consumption of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) banned under NDPS Act 1985 is a rejection criterion
Agniveers found in possession, storing, distributing, or consuming such drugs after enrollment shall be liable for disciplinary action including dismissal
IAF follows ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY to alcoholism and substance abuse
Body Tattoos
Permanent body tattoos are generally NOT permitted
Exceptions: Tattoos only on inner forearm (inside elbow to wrist), back of hand, and tribal tattoos as per custom may be considered
Final decision on acceptability rests with the Selection Centre
Candidates with tattoos must submit two photographs (close-up and distant view) with details during selection test
Gender-Related Disqualifications
Candidates found to have predominant characteristics of opposite gender will be rejected as UNFIT
Any candidate having undergone gender reassignment surgery will be declared UNFIT

Phase I - Written Test: Common entrance examination for basic knowledge
Phase II - Physical Fitness Test (PFT): 1.6 km run, push-ups, sit-ups, and other physical tests
Phase III - Medical Examination: Complete medical examination as per IAF medical standards
Phase IV - Medical Review Board: Final medical fitness decision
Documentation & Verification: Document verification and background check
Final Merit List: Selection based on overall performance and merit

Uniform & Discipline: Subject to military rules, regulations, and Standing Orders
Post-Service Options: Exceptional performers (approximately 25% annually) eligible for permanent enrollment as Non-Combatant(E) in regular cadre
Exit Benefits: Gratuity, terminal benefits, and other benefits as per government norms at the end of 4 years
