Job Description:

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automation and Control Engineer to join our electrode manufacturing team. This engineer will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining automation and control systems to improve the efficiency, safety, and quality of our electrode manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in automation systems, PLC programming, process control, and industrial instrumentation, along with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex systems.


Key Responsibilities:

Automation System Design & Implementation:
Develop, design, and implement automation and control systems to streamline electrode manufacturing processes, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal downtime.
PLC Programming:
Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems, including HMI (Human Machine Interface) integration for seamless operation.
Control System Development:
Design and implement control strategies for continuous process improvement, using advanced control systems, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and other automation tools.
System Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
Quickly identify and resolve any issues with control systems, automation equipment, and electrical systems to minimize production disruptions.
Process Optimization:
Analyse manufacturing data and performance metrics to propose and implement solutions that enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality in the electrode manufacturing process.
Integration & Upgrades:
Lead the integration of new automation technologies and upgrades to existing systems, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
Safety Compliance & Standards:
Ensure all automation and control systems comply with safety standards, regulations, and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
Collaboration & Support:
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to provide technical support and ensure smooth operation across all systems.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for automation systems, control strategies, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Training & Mentorship:
Provide training and technical guidance to junior engineers and operational staff on automation systems, control techniques, and troubleshooting methods.

Qualifications:

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 6-15 years of experience in automation and control systems in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Experience in electrode manufacturing or a similar field is preferred.
Hands-on experience with PLCs (Siemens1200,1500, Omron NJ,NX, Inovance.), MES systems, and industrial control systems.
Hands-on experience with Omron, Inovance Servo and ABB VFD.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, and sensors.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text, etc.).
Knowledge of industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus, Ether CAT etc.).
Familiarity with control strategies (PID, advanced process control).
Experience with HMI design and programming.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with data collection and reporting tools (e.g., historian systems, data loggers).
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
Preferred Skills:

Experience in electrode manufacturing or other battery-related industries.
Knowledge of ISO, IEC, and other relevant standards.
Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution System) or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) integration.
Charged Couple Devices (CCD) or Vision camera teaching and operation.

Work Environment:

This position will be based in a manufacturing facility, and the candidate should be prepared to work in an industrial environment with regular exposure to electrical systems and automated machinery.
